Excellent News! Chengdu University Achieves Remarkable Results with 13 Disciplines Listed in ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025
On November 18th, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy released the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2025.Nearly 20,000 disciplines from over 2,000 universities across 92 countries and regions were listed, including disciplines from 15 universities in Sichuan Province. Chengdu University had 13 of its disciplines included. Compared to the 2024 results, three disciplines—Artificial Intelligence, Metallurgical Engineering, and Biological Engineering—were newly added, while four disciplines—Food Science and Engineering, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Energy Science and Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering—have risen in the rankings.

Among them, the university's Food Science and Engineering discipline is ranked 47th globally and 26th in MainlandChina. The Control Science and Engineering discipline is placed in the 101–150 range globally and 38–59 range in the Chinese Mainland. The Nanoscience and Nanotechnology discipline is positioned in the 151–200 range globally and 75–93 range in the Chinese Mainland.

It is reported that the inclusion of multiple disciplines and the strong performance of several subjects highlight the institution's solid foundation and development potential in disciplinary construction. Moving forward, the university will continue to deepen its efforts in this area, focusing on achieving breakthroughs in key disciplines and fostering the growth of specialized fields. This commitment aims to enhance the core competitiveness and international influence of its disciplines, thereby contributing more significantly to the advancement of higher education and regional socio-economic development.
